Job Description

Job Summary:

Oversees maintenance of the company's general ledger and related accounting practices, including payables, receivables, inventories, fixed assets, depreciation, and payroll. Assures records are prepared and maintained in accordance with internal policies and within external compliance. Collaborates with management to develop schedules, procedures, and systems to enable the timely and informative accumulation, adjustment, and reporting of financial data.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead process review and maintain general ledger functions and structure
  • Timely prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting package
  • Understand and approve monthly schedules, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Develop and implement testing policies and procedures for Oracle Cloud
  • Lead external audit engagements
  • Respond to inquiries from parent company regarding reporting results and balances
  • Develop accounting training program for new and existing staff
  • Perform analytical review of financial results

    • Drive reporting consistencies and improvements across multiple businesses
  • Ensure consistent compliance with internal controls, corporate accounting standards, GAAP, IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Research and understand current GAAP and IFRS standards that effect all business units
  • Communicate with co-workers, management and company personnel in a courteous, timely and professional manner
  • Perform any other duties, projects or analysis as directed by the Company

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience required
  • CPA certification required
  • At least 3 years’ experience in public accounting required
  • At least 2 years in managing teams or leading projects
  • Large organization/corporate ($1+ billion in sales) experience required. Trading and/or Merchandising industry experience is a plus
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work and interact well with others

 

Special Demands:

 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time
  • Position requires operation of a computer and other standard office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator, computer printer up to 90% of the time
  • Frequently communicates with employees in the office and at remote locations
