Job Description

Job Summary: 

Provides support in handling various purchases and sales of commodity vessels. Tasks typically include inputting transactions into various systems, working with customers on market orders and exchanges, working with Traders and Risk department on position and pricing, as well as working closely with Execution and Accounting. Communicate daily and weekly reports. Working to improve efficiencies and communication flow between related departments and our international offices.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Data entry and management of all communicated contracts and amendments from international offices.
  • Execute orders received from traders and brokers via telephone, e -mail, and instant message.
  • Manage, organize and maintain GTC orders
  • Work with Execution and Accounting on contract, pricing and quantity information
  • Manage value dates on counterparty invoices and process payments.
  • Work with Credit on reporting and managing A/R and A/P on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Balance position on daily basis and inventory on monthly basis.
  • Complete settlement transactions for all vessel activity

Other Job Functions:

  • Other general administrative duties as assigned


  • 1 + years’ experience in a trading environment or Series 3 preferred, or 3 + years in a business environment.
  • Two-year degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of futures markets
  • Basic understanding of futures market terminology
  • Basic understanding of spread orders
  • Basic understanding of exchanges
  • Able to convey sensitivity to international counterparts
  • Strong attention to details required
  • High level of multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to handle high stress situations
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic general ledger accounting.

  • Frequent, long periods of working in standard office environment using standard office equipment
