Job Description

Job Summary:

Supervises a team of employees responsible for desktop access administration and support to the business and functional users. Handles more complex issues, runs special projects & initiatives, and drives to reduce recurring incidents.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise the team responsible for IT client support.
  • Oversight of high-risk incidents.
  • Monitor incidents to look for trends, identify problems, and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Collect and report desktop configurations and inventory information.
  • Prepare and maintain installation instructions for all applications.
  • Ensure cross-training within department for improved coverage and service.
  • Draft and distribute communications on incidents, new services, or upgrades.
  • Approve expenditures and ensure proper coding of IT budget expenses.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure we receive appropriate levels of service at cost effective prices.
  • Review quarterly vulnerability reports and direct patching process to mitigate security risks.
  • Monitor and true up as needed software licensing to ensure we are in compliance.
  • Oversee and manage projects or special initiatives.

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

    • Experience in service-oriented environments with strong verbal, written, and telephone skills
    • At least 5-7 years of experience in customer support
    • Four-year college degree in computer science, information systems or related field is preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred
  • Must have strong problem solving, organization skills, and high attention to detail
  • In depth understanding of desktops, laptops, printers and other peripherals
  • Familiarity with incident management software
  • Ability to adapt to a changing and evolving dynamic information systems arena
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Some travel is required to remote locations
  • Must be able to manage multiple work items at one time with a high sense of urgency
